3 years on…
Reflecting on a period that incorporated countless earthquakes and a complete site move across town, the Christchurch staff of B&D Doors (NZ) Ltd. proudly celebrated 3 years with no Lost Time Injuries today.
“Three years with no lost time injury is a pretty big milestone for any manufacturing business and to have achieved this in the face of earthquakes and a full site move makes me very proud of the safety culture we have developed within the business.” Said Sharron Sillick, B&D’s Safety & Sustainability Advisor.
Employees took time out from their busy pre-Christmas workload to receive a specially embroidered polo shirt and pose for a photo in honour of the occasion.
The B&D culture of safety is not just localised to Christchurch, it is a national focus with the Auckland site approaching 4 years LTI free, the last lost time injury occurring on the 24th February 2010.
“A big Thank you must be said to all our staff for the way they look after each other” says Sharron as the business sets its sights on the next safety milestone.
